about
I wrote this song three and a half years ago in a little house in Santa Cruz California. I was SINGLE-- all caps. It's not a profoundly deep song, and it's not riddled with imaginative musicality. It is a song about love. It's a song about the kind of love that they talk about in movies and write about in books. The kind of love that feels so unattainable and too grand for reality. I wrote this song about how I thought that kind of love might feel. How it might feel to be 'over the moon', 'head over heels', 'in love', with another human person. **Cliches intended
Cue the cheese!
lyrics
If I told you that I loved you,
Would you finally be my man?
If I told you that I want you,
Would you tell me that I can?
Would you tell me that I can?
Wish you would, wish I could, think we should
In my mind, in my heart, in my soul, and in my art
I see you, you, you, ooh
I love you.
If I asked you to stay,
Would you stay many more days?
If I asked you to play,
Would you play me 'Penny Lane'?
Would you play me 'Penny Lane'?
Wish you would, wish I could, think we should
In my mind, in my heart, in my soul, and in my art
I see you, you, you, ooh
I love you.
In my mind, in my heart, in my soul, and in my art
I see you, you, you, ooh
I love you.
